Sunday, December 2nd, the Reverend Douglas Kendall, Interim
Moderator appointed by the Presbytery of Ottawa, declared the
pulpit of St. Stephen's to be vacant.
This means that the church is
currently without a full time minister. It does not mean that the
congregation will be without the presence of a minister, however, as
one of the main responsibilities of the interim moderator is to ensure
continuous leadership for worship. Rev Kendall will also work with the
Session to provide assistance with planning and continuation of all
regular church activities. In the months to come a committee will be
struck to begin for the search for a new minister.
The congregation
will be kept informed as this process unfolds and upcoming Newsletters
will provide details of other changes and news as they become available.
